Real moments. Real connection. Real life, beautifully told.

Your session isn’t a performance, it’s time spent being together while I quietly turn those moments into a cinematic keepsake.
Here’s what it feels like to make a family film.

Let's Film Together

The Experience — What to Expect

Mother sitting by a window holding her 3-month-old baby in soft silhouette — intimate newborn motherhood film by Tara O’Brien Family Films in Louisville, Kentucky.
I'm Ready to Book

We’ll start with a short conversation so I can learn about your family — your routines, personalities, and what moments you never want to forget.
You’ll get a simple prep guide that helps everyone relax (what to wear, how to prepare your space, and how to let go of the idea of “perfect”). We’ll also go over some ideas and plans of how you’ll want to spend our time together, activities or routines you would love to capture.

Before Your Session

Expect a relaxed, unhurried experience. I’ll spend a few hours with your family doing what you normally do — making breakfast, playing outside, reading, cuddling.
I give gentle direction only when it helps the story flow, but mostly, I observe.

You’ll forget the camera is even there.
The best moments are the ones that unfold naturally — the real smiles, the tiny gestures, the sounds that make your house feel like home.

During Filming

Once filming is complete, I carefully edit your story — pairing movement, sound, and licensed music that fits your family’s energy.
You’ll receive your finished film via a private online link to download and share.

Most films are delivered within 4–6 weeks, depending on season and scope.

FAQs

  • Please don’t stress about that. I’m looking for light and emotion, not spotless rooms. Your home tells your story just the way it is.

  • Nope. I don’t ask you to pose or perform. Once you’re engaged with your kids or partner, you’ll forget the camera completely. My job is to notice the moments you don’t realize are happening.

  • Yes! I film throughout Kentucky and southern Indiana. Travel fees apply for sessions beyond 1 hour from Louisville.

  • Absolutely. Every family dynamic is different — we’ll chat beforehand to make sure the timing works for everyone.

  • Once you fill out the contact form, I’ll reach out within 1–2 business days to schedule a short discovery call.
To reserve your session, a signed agreement and deposit are required — the rest is due before filming.

  • Comfortable, neutral, movement-friendly clothes work best. Avoid bright neons or heavy logos. I’ll send a simple style guide with examples after booking.

Your life doesn’t need direction, just documenting.

This process is simple, calm, and heartfelt.
My goal is that you walk away not just with a film you love, but with a deeper appreciation for the life you already have.
